"Wabi" - Stefan's own 40' Steel Boat:
Built in the upper elevations of Switzerland, on the dream of a young man wishing to escape his landlocked country and set out on the vast open sea, Wabi has carried Stefan on numerous wonderful adventures on the coast of Europe, the Atlantic, US East Coast, and throughout the Caribbean Sea.
Wabi is a 40' steel hull construction and was built in the late 70's. She is a french design, hard chine boat, with a fin keel, and marconi rig. She has a varnished wooden mast and boom and is rigged with traditional hank-on sails. She performs best under gusty conditions and has an average speed of 5 knots.
Wabi has undergone multiple transformations in her lifetime, all of which has been accomplished by Stefan. Her current home port is Deltaville, VA.

How she looks now:
Interior:
Inside, you'll find a cozy interior, large galley, multiple berths, and plenty of space in cockpit lockers and cabinetry to store sails, spare parts, tools, and personal items. The complete interior was designed, constructed, and finished by Stefan.
Her Construction:
The Rig:The mast was constructed in a rectangular shape out of fir and has two sets of spreaders.
Additionally, there are alternating steps allowing Stefan to access his mast tip, and also maintain and check on the condition of the rigging and mast. Find more information on mast and rigging selecting the tab on the menu or clicking here. |
